Swiss-Asia Holding Pte Ltd is a Singapore-Registered Financial Holding Company with two main subsidiaries; Swiss-Asia Financial Services Pte Ltd and Swiss-Asia Asset Management (HK) Ltd. The Company was founded by Mr Olivier Mivelaz in 2004.

Swiss-Asia Financial Services Pte Ltd holds a Capital Markets Services (CMS) License under the Singapore Securities and Futures Act (SFA) to conduct regulated activities in Fund Management and Advisory for accredited investors.

Swiss-Asia Asset Management (HK) Ltd holds a License under the Securities and Futures Ordinance from the Securities and Futures Commission in Hong Kong to carry out regulated activities in Fund Management (Type 9) and Advisory (Type 4) for professional investors.

Management

Committed to effective governance, Swiss-Asia aims to safeguard stakeholders’ interests, promote long-term sustainability while ensuring superior service to our clients. The Management is responsible for the monitoring of adherence to Swiss-Asia’s core principles of Excellence, Respect, Integrity and Independence.

The two partners, Olivier Mivelaz and Steve Knabl have a wealth of experience. Together, they have a total aggregate of 50 years of experience in Banking and Finance, Wealth Management, Hedge Funds and Financial Services.

OLIVIER MIVELAZ

CEO & Founding Partner

Olivier Mivelaz is a Swiss national with more than 30 years of banking and finance experience and has been residing in Asia for over 27 years.
Olivier founded Swiss-Asia in 2004, being one of the very first independent Singapore licensed External Asset Management and Fund Management Company.
Prior to founding Swiss-Asia, he was Managing Director and Board Member of BCVI(S) (fully owned by Banque Cantonale Vaudoise) from 1994 to 2004.

At Bank Leu Ltd, Hong Kong from 1991 to 1994, Olivier was Managing Director and Regional Representative and was an Investment Advisory License Holder for the company. Bank Leu is part of the Credit Suisse Group.
At BNP Hong Kong from 1990-1991, he was the Head of the Investment Department, in charge of developing portfolio management strategy for BNP Hong Kong and started BNP’s first brokerage activity in Asia.

Olivier started his career at Swiss Bank Corporation (SBC, now UBS), working as an Asset Manager from 1982 to 1990, and was posted in Geneva, Basle, New York and Hong Kong during his time at SBC.

STEVE KNABL

COO & Managing Partner

Steve Knabl, is a Swiss national with 17 years of extensive experience in the Alternative Fund Management, Wealth Management and Financial Services.

Steve is highly experienced in project coordination and operational implementation of complex business strategies. His very diverse experience over the years has allowed him to acquire extensive product knowledge in diverse businesses and business processes that enable him to efficiently translate visions into action. Leadership of teams in diverse business lines are also his forte.

Since joining Swiss-Asia in February 2008, Steve has taken on responsibility encompassing deal & project negotiation and structuring of Funds and Private Wealth Management deals in Asia, Operations Management, Legal & Compliance, Technology, Finance, HR, Due Diligence processes and Structural Risk Management for the firm as a whole. Steve is also registered as a professional Director with the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority and sits on the board of Directors of a large panel of Hedge Funds.

Steve attended the University of Neuchatel – Switzerland, in the “Faculte des Sciences Economiques” and continued to acquire a Bachelor of Sciences Degree (BSc) in International Hospitality Management at the Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne – Haute Ecole Spécialisée (HES).

STEVE KNABL

Managing Partner

Steve Knabl is a Swiss national with more than 15 years of experience in financial services field at the general management level. He attended the Faculté des Sciences Economiques of University of Neuchatel, and continued to acquire a BSc in International Hospitality Management at the Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne – Haute Ecole Spécialisée.

Steve has an in-depth knowledge of brokerage and trading operations as well as experience and proficiency in project coordination and operational implementation of complex business strategies. His very diverse experience over the years as Head of Trading and Treasury Operations has allowed him to acquire extensive product knowledge with a wide experience in diverse businesses and business processes that enables him to efficiently translate visions into action. Leadership of teams in diverse business lines are also his forte.

Since joining Swiss-Asia Group as Chief Operating Officer in February 2008, Steve has taken on responsibility encompassing deal and project negotiation; structuring of Funds and Private Wealth Management deals in Asia; Operations Management, Legal & Compliance, Technology, Finance, HR, Due Diligence processes and Structural Risk Management for the firm as a whole. By focusing on careful management of the processes, Steve ensures that business operations are efficient, effective and compliant with applicable regulations.

Riccardo Lehmann

Managing Director

  • Riccardo joined Swiss-Asia in 2015 and is a German national who is living in Hong Kong and is taking charge of Swiss-Asia Asset Management in Hong Kong.
  • He worked for UBS in Germany and Austria and later in Singapore before joining Swiss-Asia in 2015. During his tenure at UBS, he has acquired extensive experience in the external wealth management space.
  • Riccardo completed his Certificate as a Certified Banking Specialist in Private Banking at the Banking Academy in Frankfurt, Germany.

Rahul Dubey

Business Development and Investor Relations

  • Rahul joined Swiss-Asia in November 2016 to provide capital introduction for platform funds. He also looks after investor relations and organizes regular Cap Intro and Fundies networking events. His role has now expanded to cover business development.
  • Rahul used to be at UTI International, an India-focused asset manager and Eurekahedge, a provider of data on alternative investments. He also did research on family offices and business development at the Wilson Holding Company (formerly HFG Group).
  • Rahul graduated in 2009 from Nanyang Technological University with a Major in Civil Engineering

Joanna Boo

Head of Operations

  • Joanna joined Swiss-Asia in 2008 as fund accountant and now oversees the entire operations function as the Head of Operations. Joanna oversees the on boarding, operations and middle office of all fund managers on the platform.
  • Joanna started her career in HSBC Institutional Trust Services Singapore Ltd as a Portfolio Accountant where she performed valuation and administration services for diverse hedge funds based in the Asian region.
  • Joanna graduated from Singapore Management University with a degree in Accountancy in 2006. She is also a full member of CPA Singapore.

Jason Soon

Head of Finance

  • Jason joined Swiss-Asia in 2008 is currently coordinating all financial operational activities of the Swiss-Asia group of companies which includes managing organizational cash flow and forecasting.
  • Prior to joining the hedge fund industry, Jason has been an auditor with a local CPA firm and a tax auditor with the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore. He has previously worked with HSBC Institutional Trust Services Singapore Ltd as a Senior Portfolio Accountant.
  • Jason has obtained his professional accountancy qualification from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (UK) and is currently a provisional member with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore.

Cecile Taymans

Senior Relationship Manager – External Asset Management Desk

  • Cécile has been working for Swiss-Asia since 2010 and currently supervises the Wealth Management support team. While developing processes to efficiently respond to the constant regulatory changes, Cecile and her team provide tailor-made services to suit the needs of External Asset Managers.
  • Prior to joining Swiss-Asia, Cecile held a client relationship position for 4 years in Belgium and worked in a business-oriented diplomatic mission for 5 years in Singapore.
  • Formerly a language teacher, Cécile changed her career path and obtained a certificate in finance at the University of Michigan. She holds a Representative’s License in Fund Management under the Securities and Futures Act.
